Description synthétique
Morphologie | Morphométrie
Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 7-8; Rayons mous anaux: 9 - 10; Vertèbres: 31 - 32. Distinguished by the following autapomorphy: very large lateral process on base of fifth median anal-fin radial of adult males. Differs from Phallotorynus jucundus by having 7 or 8 dorsal-fin rays (vs. 9 or 10) and from P. fasciolatus by its color pattern with one spot (vs. spotless); from P. pankalos by its color pattern comprising of one spot (vs. six to nine spots). Differs from P. jucundus and P. victoriae by having 13 epipleural ribs (vs. 11 or 12); and differs further from P. victoriae by having 9 gonopodial rays vs. 8 (Ref. 56059).
