Produces 60-120 eggs. The eggs are attached to the ceiling of caves, female cares for eggs and larvae (Ref. 47893). Like other Apistogramma, this species may participate in harem spawning where the male services more than one female in his secret spawning site which may either be a cave or thick vegetation (Ref. 12251).
