Etymology: Peckoltia: Because of Gustavo Peckolt,member of the Natural History Commission of Rondon (Ref. 45335).
Issue
The status of this species is uncertain: valid as Peckoltia multispinis (Holly, 1929), or a synonym of Peckoltia vittata (Steindachner, 1881) according to Armbruster (2008: Ref. 77026:34).
