Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Prefers floodplain to riverine habitats but does occur in rocky areas where habitats are restricted (Ref. 52193). It feeds on typical squeaker diet of detritus, algae and benthic invertebrates (Ref. 52193). Oviparous (Ref. 205). Distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Lives for 4 or 5 years (Ref. 7248).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01660 (0.00806 - 0.03417), b=2.90 (2.73 - 3.07), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this species & Genus-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  2.5   ±0.20 se; based on food items.
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
