Dorsal soft rays (total): 10; Anal soft rays: 18 - 20. Rhinopetitia potamorhachia differs from its only congener, R. myersi Géry 1964, by the presence of distinct dark midlateral body stripe (vs. absence) overlaying an inconspicuous, round humeral blotch (vs. absence of humeral blotch); teeth in both premaxillary tooth rows with seven to nine cusps and seven or eight cusps on the maxillary teeth (vs. outer series of premaxillary teeth with three cusps and inner series of premaxillary teeth with three to five cusps; maxillary teeth with three to five cusps) (Ref. 111429).

Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.7500   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01479 (0.00653 - 0.03348), b=2.96 (2.77 - 3.15), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.0   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
