Definition of Term

flood tide
(English) In-flowing tide, from low tide to high tide; daily change from low to high seawater level; the tidal stage at which ocean water flows in an inshore direction and into estuarine systems. (See also: ebb tide, intertidal)
marée montante
(French) La marée entrante, de marée basse à marée haute; changement journalier de niveau bas à haut niveau de l'eau de mer; la phase de la marée auquelle le flux d'eau de l'océan est dans une direction côtière et vers les systèmes estuarines. (See also: ebb tide, intertidal)
