Polypterus senegalus meridionalis: Lualaba River and its upper affluents in Katanga down to Yangambi (Ref. 3188), including the upper Lualaba (Ref. 2970, 42112, 43035, 45434, 45616), Luvua (Ref. 43035, 45616), Lualaba (Ref. 43035, 45434), Wagenia Falls (Ref. 106245) and the middle Congo River at Yangambi (Ref. 4910, 42033). Its presence downstream Kisangani is considered exceptional (Ref. 4910). Report from upper tributaries of the Lulua (Kasai drainage)(Ref. 43811) is unconfirmed in other sources. Polypterus senegalus senegalus: Lake Albert (Ref. 41590, 48922, 48960). Type locality of the syntypes of Polypterus senegalus meridionalis: 'Katanga (bassin du Congo)' (Ref. 42907). |
