Comments: A female measuring 110 cm was harpooned bearing 300 embryos, from 42 to 63 cm in length. Many embryos had yolk-sac and were encapsulated in egg cases, most however, were free and without any yolk-sac (Ref. 35678). Of these, 15 embryos were alive and one was reared for 143 days in an aquarium in Japan where it developed from fetal to juvenile stage, confirming that this species is an ovoviviparous live-bearer (Ref. 26319).
