Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 95-95; Anal soft rays: 80-80. Soleichthys multifasciatus differs from Soleichthys dori by having scales on fins of the blind side beginning on the posterior third of the fins (vs. anteriorly on S. dori); the inside of the mouth not black (vs. finely dotted with melanophores) (Ref. 79000).
