Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to the northern part of Lake Malawi as far south as Nkhata Bay.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in the intermediate sand-rock habitat but also occurs over open sandy areas. Feeds on plankton (Ref. 5595).
