Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Persian Gulf and Oman east to India.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky shallow coastal waters. Feeds on algae and small invertebrates (Ref. 68964). Utilized fresh but not sold extensively.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 04 December 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
