Biology: |
A short-lived species which inhabits upper and middle reaches of rivers, with shallow waters and stony bottom (Ref. 11240). Feeds mainly on aquatic invertebrates (Ref. 59043). Oviparous, with distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Matures at 1 yr of age (Ref. 59043). Is threatened due to pollution, habitat destruction and the introduction of other species (Ref. 26100, 59043). |
